Service Projects
Each year the guild members sew and donate quilts to local charities as part of our community involvement.
Sweet Babies
In 2021, the guild donated 265 quilts to Sweet Babies. This organization provides clothing and other needed items to families with newborns as they leave the hospital to help keep their babies warm, comfortable and safe.
Home Sweet Home
Also in 2021, the guild donated 35 quilts of various sizes to Home Sweet Home, an organization connecting nonprofit partners in the St. Louis region with donated furniture and household items. They help clients transition to new living situations with much needed furnishings and basics, providing a sense of ownership and a source of stability.
Greater East St. Louis Community Fund
Another organization that the guild works with is The Greater East St. Louis Community Fund. The Guild members make quilts for graduates of East St. Louis Senior High School, SIUE/East St. Louis Charter High School and Brooklyn High School who have received college scholarships from the Community Fund. A special ceremony is held each July for the scholarship presentations and the gift of a quilt for students entering their freshman year in college.
